Soil additives immobilising heavy metals in contaminated soils
نویسندگان
چکیده
Addition of iron oxides, lime, clay minerals and other substances can be used to decrease the plant availability toxic heavy metals such as Pb, Zn, Cd. Extractability consequently concentrations may reduced in some cases by more than 50%. The assessment remediation processes is supported biomonitoring methods field with Plantago lanceolata greenhouse barley test experiments, combination extraction ammonium nitrate.

متن کاملRemediation of heavy metals contaminated soils by ball milling.
In the present work, the use of ball milling reactors for the remediation of lead contaminated soils was investigated. Lead immobilization was achieved without the use of additional reactants but only through the exploitation of weak transformations induced on the treated soil by mechanical loads taking place during collisions among milling media. The degree of metal immobilization was evaluate...

Environmental pollution with heavy metals is a global disaster that is related tohuman activities. This study was conducted to determine the extent of heavy metalsaccumulation by plant species in Lia industrial city (Qazvin, Iran) and to investigate theremediative capacity of native plant species grown in the contaminated soils. Soil andindustrial wastewater sampling was done radially along tra...

The use of metal-accumulating plants to clean the contaminated soil with toxic metals is the most rapidly developing component of phytoremediation as an environmentally friendly technology. Overcoming harsh soil conditions and accelerating the recovery of degraded soils remain a worldwide restoration challenge. This study evaluated the effect of different concentrations of Pb, Zn, Cu and Fe on ...
